People use books to make them look smart.

Go figure.

Guardian reports One in three has bought a book just to look intelligent. Although this appears to be a British survey since Americans don’t read, I’m sure if you hung around any liberal college you’d find a bunch of youngsters carrying heavy works of fiction or philosophy that most of them haven’t read. Geek is chic.

i find that offensive. i assure you, i buy books because the recycled paper is great for taking those annoying streaks off of the bathroom mirror.

i can remember in the ol' glory days in chi carrying around books in my bag wondering when i was planning on reading them with everything else going on.

Now I carry a dictionary around thats really a wallet inside (its hollowed out get it?) because the same person looking to steal my wallet isnt going to want to steal a dictionary.

im looking into a wheel chair, also an old lady to push around to carry/hide my ipod. You gotta be thinking security these days.

What happened to wearing fake reading glasses? Books are heavy. Glasses get to the point much quicker, and don't weigh you down. Therefore, they won’t slow you down incase you get yourself into a police chase.
